Kai is new to rescue as of March 2025. He was surrendered from a home situation where he and others in the home were not being treated properly. As we are getting to know his personality through his stay with us, we are learning that he has barrier aggression - meaning when he is in a crate or enclosure, he acts out and lunges at the kennel. We do believe he was taunted in a kennel previously and has now developed a severe hatred for being contained. 

Kai can be a bit vocal, as most Aussies are... and he can be a bit spicy, selective in who he likes. This is not to say that Kai isn't a great dog, but he has been through a good deal in his short life and needs to learn that not everyone is out to hurt him. He does have an extremely sweet side with his foster mom and listens to her very well when being corrected. Kai will need a special home once he is officially cleared for adoption. 

His new family will need to understand he needs to take it slow with introductions and not be overwhelmed before he is comfortable. If you have prior Aussie experience, that would be great! Kai could use an owner who knows his breed and personality and can help him thrive.

All animals come spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and heartworm meds, microchipped for safety, medical records release, and current food.
