Meet Mack ... aka Mack Attack. Don't let his nickname scare you, he has the softest most submissive side ever if you let him show you!
Mack has some pretty good stranger danger, he was not socialized the best when he was a pup so we are working on him not being scared of new people. He does alert you when people walk in front of the house and if he’s in the car or house, he will bark at other dogs - outside of those situations, he wants to be friendly. He does growl at new people but out of fear. Mack took about 3 days to warm up to me when he came to his fosters house, he was not loved like he needed, and it shows. He’s BEYOND AMAZING once he warms up, but there is a transition period. He will likely need to meet his new family more than once to feel comfortable.
He can be a little pistol when meeting new people, so we try to stress that he is not be lovey dovey on the first meeting! He did attend a 6-week board and train in Bradenton with Train Pro Dogs, where they worked with him on basic commands and being ‘nice’ when he meets new people. Although the company has dissolved, a trainer is continuing services and would be a great benefit to Mack to attend their Saturday group classes for 1 hour to continue his training.Â
